In this blog I have documented my works during my art studies in 1990-1993. After that I did almost nothing during years, but on 2nd May 2021 I started to put here some of my works of today... However, I am still a student in my practice of artworks... Due to some problems with this blog I started a new one in 2022, artworksbyig.blogspot.com or Artworks by Irmeli Grunau, and put there what I make from now on... I have this blog since 2014 - somebody started an internet shop with this same name.

My only self-portraits...
Guess how these are made!
These are my first and only self-portraits if not in count the drawing in oils about 30 years ago.
They are drawn on some two-evenings course in Taidehalli in Helsinki in 2015.
Drawn with black ink and with some water color on water color paper size A4.
My poor attempt to a self-portrait with oil-paint in 1990...

I have problems with oil-painting as I don't have a studio of any kind and the oil-paint takes about two weeks to dry and makes your every corner dirty. That is even the reason why I have not been painting with oil-paint almost at all but mostly done some drawing with drawing ink and pencil.

Experiments in black Indian Ink...
Experiments in black Indian Ink and brown Pelican Sepia Ink...
I had still left some bottles of brown Pelican Sepia Ink (15) already about 30 years old and with which I liked to draw on Schöllerhammer water color paper. Some strange things used to happen when I poured some water on my works and I liked that. That Sepia Ink is not to get anywhere any more.
Now that water color paper is not to get anywhere either. But I took some old works of mine and tested on them if the old Sepia Ink was already spoiled or if it still worked... and it doesn't work any more... This is a pity! This was my special those times about 30 years ago...
Now when that brown ink is not to get anywhere I have turned to use the black Indian Ink but it is an other kind of a matter. I had about 47 old works on Schöllerhammer paper I could use to draw on the back side of the paper with the black Indian Ink... but the wonderful things don't happen with black ink...
These things I did in summer 2020...
